Language managers gain autonomy to set prices

KASAHOROW recently took the decision to allow language managers to set prices for their language dictionaries. Why? Because our new sustainability model means language managers are working towards their language dictionaries being completely self-funded by royalties rather than through the endowment.

With the change, we want our managers to feel they have autonomy to set prices. While we previously lowered our book prices with the aim of promoting inclusion and making our dictionaries available to as many people as possible, we believe this is an important step to connect our language managers with their audience.

We aim to balance quality and affordability with this change to maximise safety for our language managers and our readers. With this in mind, we will continue to monitor the change and see where it leads us.
